Web Development & Community Welfare Internship at Eklavya Foundation (NGO)

Location: Bhopal/Ujjain/Hoshangabad (MP)

Stipend & Benefits: Lodging and boarding will be provided.Sleeper or if that is not available then AC-3 tier to-fro will be reimbursed. In addition to this honorarium will be given to interns.

Brief Description: Eklavya Foundation has been working in the field of education since last three decades. Some of its work include developing course curriculum for state boards and CBSE at primary and middle school level,teacher’s training, setting up libraries in villages, publishing etc. It works in close association with NCERT,SCERT, Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) and Azim Premji Foundation.

Technical Roles:
1. Designing a template for online magazine in unicode font and preparing one complete issue of the Online magazine
Skills Required :Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Idea of Unicode (Hindi).

2. To develop a shopping cart on website. Interns need to do thorough research to get most suited open source shopping cart for e-commerce website and do a trial run.
Skills Required:Web Development:
Backend: Strong knowledge of PHP and MySQL database, MVC frameworks like CodeIgniter, Joomla.
Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jquery, MooTools.

Non-technical Roles:
1. To work with editorial team.
Skill Required : Student should have some flair for language or science or both and some level of proficiency in Hindi

2 .To work with the team trying to develop a model to make libraries in govt schools functional especially for summer camps.
Skill Required :Student should be interested in interacting directly with students (middle school 12-15 years), teachers & community and should be ready to spend time in the field with the team.

Duration: 6-8 weeks (starting around 20,May,2013)

How to apply: Interested students for technical role (preferably from tier-1 college) and non-technical role (open to all college students) should send me their CV  within 5 days ( till 27/04).In addition to this write in approx. 100 words why are you suitable for this internship. Please mention the role you want to take on the top of CV according to your priority. Students may apply for more than one role but will be allotted only one based on their priority.
