The Uday Foundation is an NGO based in New Delhi, India closely working with the children afflicted with birth defects, disorders, syndromes, and various diseases that affect their health condition, education & growth. Prime focus of our NGO is to work closely on Indian public health policy, awareness and implementation of various health related projects for common citizen is India.

If you are an undergraduate, graduate or professional student or a recent graduate with your own strong interest in crucial issues of our day, the Uday Foundation Intern Program offers a unique opportunity for growth, learning and meaningful service. We are looking for people who are dependable, enthusiastic, and professional.

Interns have the responsibility of interacting directly with staff, volunteers, and Foundation stakeholders, in such activities as communications, development, and scheduling. Through firsthand experience you learn how the Uday Foundation functions on a daily basis, and assist with this process directly.

Helping to accomplish the Uday Foundation’s goal: In each intern class, we look for candidates who are diligent, resourceful, professional, and intellectually curious, as we believe these qualities in our interns reinforce and bring us closer to the Uday Foundation’s mission of meeting the challenges of health and children rights.

Our each Interns has opportunity to interact with senior administration officials, and leaders in politics, business, entertainment, and journalism discuss issues of the work of Foundation.

Preference shall be given to the following :-

* Students of social and behavioral sciences, economics, communication studies and public health.
* Students pursuing 5 years integrated law course.
* Students pursuing 3 years L.L.B. course.
* Students pursuing post-graduation in human rights, sociology and other related social science.
* Students pursuing masters in social work
* Post- Graduation diploma in human rights
* Students perusing graduation with specialized subjects
* MBA and other post graduate degree / diploma course

Brief Summary of Internship Program

The selected Interns would get the opportunity to work in different areas of issues related to Children, Health and Human Rights, including participation in the review of Programmes of the ongoing projects in the Uday Foundation.

Interns will also get an opportunity to have interaction with legal luminaries, Senior Doctors, Social Workers, Senior Journalists of Various News Channels and New Papers as well as other reputed NGOs situated in Delhi. They will be required to study and scrutinize key result area of the Uday Foundation work, present findings to the NGO, compile and analyze statistical data on children and health related issues etc.

Interns will be required to prepare their reports on the topic of study assigned to them during the internship. Interns will also represent NGO in various programs and debates conducted by other organizations and news channels, apart from field visits and project work during internship.

The selected Interns will have to make their own arrangements regarding accommodation and transport at Delhi.

Stipend : Rs. 3000.00 ( Three thousand only) to cover pocket expense.

Summer Internship Program 2010

Over 10 students of various Institutes and Colleges successfully completed one month Summer Internship Program 2010 with Uday Foundation.

During the internship program, all our Interns had opportunity to visit NDTV to participate in the popular debate shows, They also visited Delhi High Court for a full day to observe proceeding of the High Court. Interns also visited the Office of India’s leading News Paper “ The Hindustan Times” where they interacted with the Health Editor Ms. Sanchita Sharma and had discussion about various health related issues in India. They also visited few senior lawyers and hospitals to have in-depth knowledge and first hand experience about the subject.

They also had opportunity to spend a day a busy OPD of India’s premier medical institute “AIIMS” where they gained knowledge about the health problems of the common citizens and the day today problem they face due to lack of medical facility and proper law.

From day one, Our all interns has come across as a very hardworking and intelligent students, who did not hesitate to put in that bit of extra effort to stand out among their contemporaries. All our interns were highly motivated and his apparent enthusiasm and interest in the subject is supported by his diligent work. They have always shown an extraordinary sense of perception of the subjects, and has made a difference to the Internship program with his insightful remarks during the Group Discussion sessions.
