RGICS invites applications for Rajiv Gandhi Research Assistants to Legislators Program

Job Title: RAJIV GANDHI RESEARCH ASSISTANTS TO LEGISLATORS (RG-RALs) PROGRAM

Job Location: Delhi

Stipend: Rs. 10,000/- per month

Organization: Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Contemporary Studies (RGICS)

Overview of internship: RGICS is establishing a “POLICY RESEARCH SERVICE” to provide Members of Parliament high quality, non-partisan and professional research assistance on policy issues arising in legislative work. The service will be delivered through carefully selected and trained RG-RALs and will focus on six broad policy areas: social, economic, political, environment and natural resource protection, governance and international relations.

Selected RG-RALS will have the unique opportunity of working with a cross-section of MPs on cutting edge policy and law making challenges facing India. Their work will be guided by selected subject-matter experts.

Organization profile: RGICS is an independent national public policy think tank focusing on shaping India’s future towards a just societal order based on Constitutional values. RGICS is promoted by the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation.

Details of internship

Desired profile:

1. Indian citizen; maximum 25 years of age*
2. Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, Mathematics or Physical and Life Sciences, with an outstanding academic record and exceptional leadership qualities and achievements.
3. Proven excellent research, analytical and communication skills (written and spoken, in English)

Experience: Past experience in policy work/published articles would be highly desirable

Duration of internship: 1 year
